How to Crosslist an eBay Item to Poshmark

By Trendy Lister · Updated · 5 min read

To crosslist an eBay item to Poshmark, reuse the facts and photos but rebuild the marketplace-specific fields. Confirm the item is still available, copy the source details into a draft, choose Poshmark's department, category, size, brand, color, price, and shipping-related fields, then review the public listing before treating it as live.

The goal is not a word-for-word copy. eBay and Poshmark organize listings differently. eBay's creating a listing guide uses category-dependent condition values, item specifics, shipping options, and return policies. Poshmark's official listing walkthrough asks sellers to upload detailed photos and add descriptive item information in its own form.

1. Verify the eBay source listing

Open the eBay listing from the authenticated seller account. Confirm it is the exact item you intend to crosslist and that the quantity is available. Save the eBay item ID and URL under the item's SKU. If the eBay listing is missing a measurement or defect, correct the source record before copying it.

Check these fields:

  • Seller-owned photos of the exact item, including labels and defects
  • Brand, model, department, size, material, color, and pattern
  • Condition and a plain-language explanation of wear
  • Measurements taken with a consistent method
  • Included accessories or missing parts
  • SKU and storage location
  • Price, offer settings, and packaged shipping weight

eBay says accurate condition information and relevant item specifics help buyers understand and find a listing. Its item specifics guide explains how fields such as brand, size, type, color, and style vary by category.

2. Prepare the photos for Poshmark

Use the original, highest-quality photo files rather than screenshots of the eBay page. Keep the first image clear and show the front, back, labels, material texture, size tag, and every flaw. Do not crop out damage to make the item look cleaner than it is.

Poshmark's guide currently allows multiple photos and a video, but limits can change. Check the live listing form instead of building a workflow around an old number. If the eBay gallery includes manufacturer images, confirm you have permission to reuse them; seller-owned photos are the safer source.

3. Translate the title and description

Keep the title factual. A useful order for apparel is brand, item type, model or style, size, color, and one distinguishing attribute. Do not add unrelated brand names or search terms. If Poshmark's title limit is shorter than the eBay title, remove low-value adjectives before removing the brand, item type, or size.

The description should include measurements, material, condition, defects, and what is included. Keep the facts consistent with eBay. Do not describe an item as “excellent” on Poshmark if the eBay listing documents cuff wear. Buyers should receive the same item story on both platforms.

4. Map Poshmark-specific fields

Select the closest valid department and category; do not force an item into a popular but inaccurate category. Choose the platform's size value and repeat measurements in the description when sizing is ambiguous. Confirm brand, color, original price if known, listing price, and whether the item is available for sale.

Marketplace categories and required fields change. A crosslisting tool can suggest a mapping, but the seller should review any uncertain value. If the correct Poshmark category or size is not clear, save a draft and resolve it rather than publishing a guess.

5. Set price with the destination in mind

Do not apply a fixed percentage increase simply because the destination is Poshmark. Compare similar sold items, account for the item's condition, and review current marketplace fees and shipping choices on the official site. Competitor pricing, fees, and promotion rules change; an old blog table is not a reliable price source.

6. Publish and verify

After submitting, open the listing in the Poshmark seller account. Confirm the cover photo, title, category, size, price, description, and availability. Save the Poshmark URL and listing ID beside the same SKU as the eBay URL. If submission fails or times out, search the seller closet for the exact item before retrying so you do not create a duplicate.

Trendy Lister can help by importing listing information, letting you choose Poshmark as a destination, and preparing the crosspost. You still review the destination fields and verify the resulting seller-side listing. A job status alone is not proof that the marketplace accepted the listing.

7. Plan the sold-item response

When either listing sells, mark the SKU sale pending and close the sibling offer. eBay allows fixed-price listings to be ended, while auction listings have restrictions described in its ending a listing guide. Confirm the remaining listing is unavailable before marking the inventory record sold.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Copying a title without checking Poshmark's current length and category fields
  • Dropping measurements or defect notes during the transfer
  • Using screenshots instead of original photos
  • Assuming the same condition label exists on both marketplaces
  • Publishing before confirming the SKU is still available
  • Retrying an ambiguous submission without checking the seller closet
  • Leaving the eBay offer active after a Poshmark sale

For the underlying inventory structure, use the inventory management guide. The double-selling checklist covers the sale-to-delist sequence, and the crosslisting guide explains when manual and assisted workflows make sense.
